NOTE D’INTENTION

“J’aimerais questionner pendant cette première semaine de résidence le « point d’accroche » des choses, des objets, du vivant et le motif général qui se dessine alors des couples, des assemblages… qualité des tensions, mise en corps forme, suggestions de relations et sensations, l’articulaire genoux, l’ampleur des extensions, les points sensibles ou poissonsibles…s’arrêter devant certains possibles dans l’infinité des configurations, l’image et le mouvement. Pour cela j’imagine aujourd’hui, me servir de la photographie et du mouvement. J’aimerais travailler la relation entre ces 2 (médium) et trouver la disposition qui me convienne…”

MONTAINE CHEVALIER

She encounters dance at Aix-en-Provence in the 80s, then an active center of french contemporary dance. She trains and performs alongside Josette Baïz, Bernard Menaut, and follows Odile Duboc from Paris to Berlfort. She collaborates with Alain Michart. She continues her training at the Company Bagouet, takes part in the first re- creation of Carnets Bagouet. She follows Bernard Glandier when he creates his company in 1995, and choreographs a first solo. She performs and teaches at the company La Liseuse G. Appaix since 1999. Alongside, since 1995, she focuses her research on techniques of instantanous composition, and performance, inspiring her work from Americans, Julyen Hamilton… She currently is active within several improvisation groups. Last years she lead a theoretical and plastic work, at the Université de Provence, confronting her practice of performance with her practice of photography.
